If your seriious about SEO then you need to learn about .htaccess and what you can do with it. It will allow you to protect your site and the code you develop as well as customize your visitors real and search engines alike experience. I would start with the Apache Reference Guide.

There is a tool I recently discovered that none of the other wannabe coolest guys on the planet are using yet. Or at least they are not telling anyone about it yet. I get their emails all the time.
